Terms and Conditions

1. Introduction
Handyman Plus Van is a trading name of Ian Croasdell, sole trader ("the Handyman," "I," "me," or "my"). These Terms and Conditions govern the provision of handyman services. By booking services through my website or other communication channels, you agree to be bound by these Terms.
2. Scope of Services
I offer a comprehensive range of handyman services, including property maintenance, repairs, installations, and related tasks. Services are primarily provided in the Swindon area.
3. Service Requests and Bookings
Booking process: Handyman services are booked as time slots via the website. You can also message me on WhatsApp to confirm which booking option fits your task list.
Booking confirmation: A booking is confirmed once your time slot is reserved and payment is received.
4. Pricing and Payment
Pricing: Handyman services are time‑slot based. I do not provide fixed quotes for handyman bookings.
Payment: Bookings are paid securely by PayPal through Calendly.
Quotes and project management: If you need a fixed quote or full project management, please use Get a Quote (handled by Fabian Interiors).
5. Cancellations and Rescheduling
Notice for cancellations and rescheduling: Please give at least 7 days’ notice if you need to cancel or reschedule a booked appointment. This helps me offer the slot to another customer.
Statutory rights: This notice policy does not affect any statutory cancellation rights you may have. Where applicable, customers booking online have a 14-day cancellation right. If you ask for work to begin within that period, you may be charged for work carried out before cancellation. The booking process will explain any required request and acknowledgement before work starts.
If I need to cancel or reschedule: I may need to cancel or reschedule an appointment because of illness or injury (including a back problem), unsafe conditions, an emergency, or another circumstance outside my reasonable control. I will give you as much notice as reasonably possible and offer a suitable alternative appointment. If we cannot agree a replacement appointment, I will refund any payment received for work that has not been carried out. This does not affect your statutory rights.
6. Liability and Insurance
Insurance: I maintain public liability insurance to safeguard against unforeseen events. Clients are encouraged to maintain their own insurance for additional coverage.
Warranty: A warranty for workmanship is provided on completed projects, subject to terms discussed and agreed upon during project consultations.
7. Materials and Safety
Materials: Clients are responsible for providing necessary materials and supplies for their projects unless alternative arrangements are agreed upon in advance.
Safety: Clients must ensure a safe working environment during project execution and disclose any hazardous conditions in advance.
9. Limitations of Service
Excluded services: I do not offer gas or electrical work, gardening, sloped roofs, tip runs/rubbish removal, toilet soil pipes, or clearing brown water drains. For jobs involving such tasks, I recommend consulting with a licensed professional specializing in those areas.
Working limits: I work alone, maximum ladder height is 5 metres, and I do not lift more than 15 kg.
10. Service Areas and Minimum Booking Requirements
Primary service area: Swindon only.
11. Dispute Resolution and Governing Law
Dispute resolution: Any disputes or concerns regarding services provided should be promptly communicated, and I am committed to resolving them amicably and professionally.
Governing law: These Terms and any contractual agreements shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales.
12. Modifications to Terms
I reserve the right to amend these Terms as needed, with notifications provided through written communication or email.
